Sugar mills in Ukraine have produced 4,920 tonnes of sugar by processing 49,600 tonnes of sugar beet till September 3.
The sugar output this year is likely to increase by 30% taking it to 1.4 million tonnes compared with last year, according to the Minister of Economy.
According to Ukrtsukor, the National Association of Sugar Producers, sugar processing started in the country on August 21. Two sugar factories were operating according to the information published on the website of the Ukrtsukor.
The increase in production this year, the total supply is likely to increase to 1.74 million tonnes. The domestic demand is around 1.25 million tonnes.
