New Delhi: Sugar companies continue their rally on the stock market despite the Sensex falling on Thursday.
At 10:09 am, Ponni Sugars (Erode) was up by 4.25%, Ugar Sugar Works was up by 2.17% and Rana Sugars was up by 2.22%. Bajajhind was up by 2.17% and Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries rose by 1.88%.
Among the other top gainers were Dhampur Sugar Mills which rose by 1.71%, Simbhaoli Sugars (up by 1.62%) and Balrampur Chini rose by 1.86%. DCM Shriram Industries also rose by 1.81% with Mawana sugars up by 1.78%.
Equity indices opened in red today with the Sensex down by 167.56 points and Nifty down by 38.40 points.
