New Delhi: Sugar stocks continued their rally on the first day of the week as the market also opened higher today.
Major sugar stocks were up by more than 4%. Ugar Sugar Works was up by 4.94% and Dharani Sugars & Chemicals was up by 4.62%. Other sugar stocks that witnessed buying on Monday were Sakthi Sugars (up 4.61%), Mawana Sugars (up 3.52%), Bajaj Hind (up 3.36%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals (up 2.75%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals (up 2.44%), Ponni Sugars (Erode)(up 2.43%), KCPP Sugar & Industries (up 1.94%) and Uttam Sugar Mills (up 1.68%).
Some sugar stocks were down and the top loser was Avadh Sugar (down 0.03%).
At around 10.09 am, the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 1480.56 points at 60757.25 and the NSE Nifty50 index was trading 387.45 points up at 18057.9.
