Vijayawada: The rainfall-induced cyclone Asani has affected the agriculture and horticulture crops grown in around 30,000 hectares in Andhra Pradesh, reports Deccan Chronicle.
The preliminary assessment indicates that along with sugarcane, maize, black gram, groundnut, and other crops were impacted due to the heavy rain caused by the cyclone. Paddy is said to one of the worst affected crops due to cyclone.
“This is the preliminary assessment and if the rainfall stops and water recede after the cyclone Asani then there will not be any damage to the crops,” said an official deployed for assessment of the crop damage.
