Mawana sugar mill clears cane dues of Rs 34.47 crore

Mawana: Mawana sugar mill has cleared cane bills worth Rs 34.47 crore against the cane purchased by February 17, 2023, reports Live Hindustan.

The mill has sent the amount to the concerned committees.

Naresh Kumar, secretary of the Mawana Cooperative sugarcane development committee said the amount will be transferred to the bank accounts of the respective sugarcane farmers.

The mill had in 2022-23 crushing season crushed around 136.58 lakh quintals of cane till March 3 and has paid the cane bills worth Rs 411.54 crore to date, said Pramod Baliyan, chief manager (sugarcane & administration) of the sugar mill.

He has appealed to the farmers to use new varieties of cane like CO-0118, CO-15023, Kosha-13235, and Kolakh-14201.
