Sugarcane Breeding Institute of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research to organise two-day CaneFest

Coimbatore: A two-day sugarcane farmers’ festival, CaneFest, has been organised by Sugarcane Breeding Institute of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research on September 23 and 24, reports The Hindu.

As per the press release issued by the department, there will be an interactive workshop on September 24 on “Sugarcane Mechanization” for sugar factory officials, cane farmers and entrepreneurs including manufacturers.

During the workshop, the NGOs and progressive farmers will exhibit the new technologies and quality sugarcane varieties.

Several topics related to sugarcane cultivation will be discussed through seminars in the workshop.

The workshop is expected to be attended by the participants from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala and Maharashtra.
