Sugarcane crops damaged due to unseasonal rain in Shahjahanpur

Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh: Heavy rain along with thunderstorms in the Shahjahanpur district damaged the sugarcane crops. It has impacted the crop grown on over hundreds of acres in the district.

According to the news report published in The Times of India, farmers say the district did not receive any rainfall during August month when there was an actual need of the water for the crops. No one from district administration has contacted them to assess the losses. They spent more money to use generators for irrigation. And now they have suffered losses due to unseasonal rain and storm.”
