Doghat, Uttar Pradesh: Sugarcane farmers under the banner of BKU have demanded the government to announce a sugarcane purchase price of Rs 450 per quintal, reports Amarujala.
A meeting of farmers under the leadership of BKU leader Rajendra Chaudhari was convened on Monday during which farmers raised this demand.
Farmers stated that the prices of fertilizers and seeds have increased manifold and it will not be possible for them to sustain if the government fails to increase cane price to Rs 450 per quintal.
