Bijnor: Farmers expressed displeasure over the non-payment of sugarcane in the monthly panchayat of BKU (Ambavata). By giving a memorandum to the DM, a demand was made to make payment along with interest.
In the Panchayat held in the Sugarcane Committee premises, District President Shiv Kumar said that the farmers are facing a financial crunch due to non-payment of sugarcane bills by the mills.
In a memorandum submitted to DM, the farmer organisation asked to clear cane dues with interest. Farmers warned of agitation in case of non-payment.
