Farmers asks Haryana CM to retain IAS officer as sugar mill CEO

Ambala: Farmers in the Ambala area are upset about the news that the Naraingarh sub-division magistrate (SDM) and chief executive officer (CEO) of Naraingarh Sugar Mill might be transferred. Naraingarh SDM C Jayasharadha, an IAS officer, could be moved due to her promotion. Farmers have written to Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar asking to keep her as the CEO of Naraingarh Sugar Mill, reports The Times of India.

Sugarcane farmers in the Naraingarh area like the work of IAS C Jayasharadha. She became the CEO of Sugar Mill about a year ago.

Leaders from various farmer groups have said that Jayasharadha has worked hard and honestly as the CEO. The mill has improved during her tenure.

The sugar mill had problems for about three years. It wasn’t paying farmers on time, so the government took control of it and made SDM Naraingarh the CEO.

Farmers say that during Jayasharadha’s year as CEO, the mill’s debts went down. The farmers don’t want Jayasharadha to be moved because they think a new CEO might not understand the mill’s problems as well which could affect its performance.
