Kolhapur: Transporters and contractors involved in cane cutting and transportation have threatened to launch a strike from Saturday if their demand of hike in commission and rates are not accepted by the sugar mills. The decision was taken in a meeting held by transporters and cane cutters in Shirol.
They claim it is difficult for them to survive in the amount offered by sugar mills. Therefore they are demanding a higher price.
