Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh: The current crushing season at the Kisan Cooperative Sugar Mill concluded on Sunday at midnight. The mill’s General Manager (GM) announced the closure of the season in the presence of farmers and mill workers, reported Live Hindustan.
The current season of the Kisan Cooperative Sugar Mill commenced on December 10. The mill administration had set a target of crushing 10 lakh quintals of sugarcane for the current season. For the past fortnight, the mill was not receiving an adequate supply of sugarcane. The mill administration had been issuing notices threatening to close the mill due to this.
The Kisan Cooperative Sugar Mill was able to crush 50,000 quintals less sugarcane in the current season compared to last year. Last year, the sugar mill crushed 8 lakh 86 thousand quintals of sugarcane. This year, the sugar mill was able to crush 8 lakh 36 thousand 849 quintals of sugarcane.
