Supplementary Budget: Special focus on sugarcane farmers

Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: The supplementary budget of the Uttar Pradesh government is giving special attention to sugarcane farmers.

According to the news report published in uniindia.com, in the supplementary budget, the loan arrangements has been made for the sugar mill belonging to the Cooperative Sugar Mills Association to make cane payments. The government aims to boost sugarcane production and sugar output in the state through this provision.

The UP Government’s achievements include changing the financial conditions of farmers and making them self-reliant. The pro-farmer policies of the government have resulted in paying Rs 1,40,000 crore cane payment to the 45.74 lakh cane farmers between 2017-21. This amount is twice the amount that was paid to the cane farmers during the reign of the Bahujan Samaj Party and 1.5 times more than the Samajwadi Party government.
