Commissioner, Cane and Sugar, Shri Sanjay R. Bhoosreddy directed the departmental officers for surprise inspection of mill gate and outside cane purchase centers in the midday and midnight on 10.12.2021 to exercise for effective control over under weighment of cane. Instructions were passed by the Commissioner to do the said campaign in comprehensive and completely confidential manner.
While providing information in this regard, the Commissioner, Cane and Sugar told that the inspection of out purchase centers and millgates related to some sugar mills were done in the afternoon on 10.12.2021 and the cane purchase centers and millgates related to some mills were inspected by the departmental officers at midnight. Inspection of the 804 Mill gate and external purchase centers done by departmental officers. All the officers of the department such as Secretary, Cane society, Senior Cane Development Inspector, District Cane Officer, Assistant Sugar Commissioner, Deputy Cane Commissioner and Deputy Sugar Commissioners were involved in the inspection. In this campaign, the accuracy of weighing machine, licenses of weighing clerks, availability of identity card with them, facilities available for farmers at cane purchase center and mill gate and random transfers of weighing clerks, etc., through ERP were inspected.
Commissioner, Cane and Sugar said that during this inspection drive, total 04 serious and 51 ordinary irregularities came into light. Action is being taken to suspend the licenses of weighing clerks in the serious irregularities that have come in light, and 01 FIR is being registered against mill officers and software provider company under relevant sections. At the time of inspection, the officials also checked sending of SMS purchi on mobiles of farmers.
Shri Bhoosreddy said that under any circumstances, the under weighment of cane will not be tolerated, and strictest action will be ensured against the sugar mills if found guilty. He also appealed to the farmers that in case of Ghatauli at any external cane purchase center and sugar mill gate, immediate action would be taken on giving information on departmental toll free number 1800-121-3203.
