Sustainable Agriculture Practices: ICAR and Dhanuka Agritech forge partnership to empower farmers

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Dhanuka Agritech Limited have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on delivering new agricultural technologies to farmers. The MoU was signed by Dr. U.S. Gautam, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Extension) of ICAR, and Dr. R.G. Aggarwal, Chairman of Dhanuka Agritech Limited.

Dr. Gautam highlighted the significance of this agreement, emphasising the need to leverage the expertise of both organisations to benefit the large number of farmers in India, particularly those with small land holdings. He stated that with over 14.5 crore farmers in the country, there is a pressing need to provide them with training and access to modern agricultural practices.

Dr. Aggarwal reiterated the commitment of Dhanuka Agritech Limited to provide advisory services and training to farmers in collaboration with ICAR’s Agricultural Technology Application Research Institutes (ATARI) and Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs). The partnership aims to empower farmers with the knowledge and tools necessary to enhance their agricultural productivity sustainably.

The collaboration signifies a concerted effort to address the evolving challenges in agriculture and promote sustainable farming practices in India.
