Thailand sugar exports dip by 24 per cent in July

Thailand witnessed a dip in sugar export by 24 per cent in July due to tight supply.

Thailand exported 428,174 mt sugar in July, including 204,761 mt of raw sugar, 196,505 mt of high-quality sugar and 26,908 mt of low-quality sugar, which is less than the 559,938 mt sugar exported in June, revealed the data released by the Thai Sugar Millers Corp.

The country’s raw sugar exports from January to July reached 2.7 million tonnes, down 20 per year-on-year.

According to the media report, Thai exports to Indonesia would likely fall further in the third and fourth quarters.
