“This is an attempt to produce sugar for global competence at lower prices” – National Sugar Institute Director

A book on “CLARIFICATION OF SUGARCANE JUICE” written by Prof. Narendra Mohan, Director, National Sugar Institute, Kanpur was released by Shri Ravikant, Secretary (Food & Public Distribution) and Shri Suresh Vashishtha, Joint Secretary (Sugar & Admn), Government of India at Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi on 10th August.

“We do not have desired books on sugar processing under Indian conditions. This is a commendable effort and we expect more such books from Prof. Mohan,.” said Shri Ravikant, Secretary (Food & Public Distribution), Government of India.

Shri Abinash Verma, Director General, Indian Sugar Mills Association lauded the effort made by Prof.Mohan and expressed his confidence that the book will help the entire sugar industry in its pursuit of making superior quality sugar with lesser inputs.

In conversation with ChiniMandi.com, Prof.Narendra Mohan, Director, National Sugar Institute said, “I am dedicating the book to all those concerned with the sugar industry. Need for a book on this subject matter was long felt as most of the books are by foreign authors based on their experiences on sugar cane juice qualities which are different from Indian cane juices. The book is an attempt to bring about the use technology and equipment under Indian conditions to produce sugar for global competence at lower prices.”
