Truck carrying sugar catches fire

Kolhar, Maharashtra: A truck carrying sugar from a sugar mill at Karjat to Madhya Pradesh suddenly caught fire near a petrol pump on Nagar-Manmad road after a diesel tank of truck busted on Friday morning. The truck was gutted in the fire however no human loss was reported in the incident.

The truck was carrying 25-tonne sugar from Ambalika cooperative sugar mill to MP and halted at a petrol pump to refill the fuel. The diesel tank suddenly busted and the truck caught fire. The fire tenders from the nearby sugar mill were deployed and the fire was brought into control after half-an-hour. The timely intervention averted the damage to the petrol pump as the truck was standing in pump premises.
