Two sugar companies in Malaysia asked to provide daily production reports: Minister

Putrajaya, Malaysia: As a step to ensure that there is no disruption in the supply of sugar, the Malaysian government has asked two main sugar-producing companies MSM Malaysia Holdings Bhd (MSM) and Central Sugar Refinery Sdn Bhd (CSR) to provide daily sugar production reports since May, reports Malay Mail.

Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub, Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister said that the instructions have been issued to these two companies to submit daily reports.

The step was taken to ensure that there is a sufficient supply of sugar in the domestic market, especially ahead of next week’s Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration, he said.
