Ukraine: Since the beginning of the season starting from September 5, the sugar refineries in Ukraine have produced 2,51,000 tonnes of sugar. The refineries have processed 1.92 million tonnes of sugar beets, informed the press service of the National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine, Ukr Tsukor.
Total 27 refineries have started operations in Ukraine since the commencement of the season. The first sugar refinery that began operations was from Lviv region’s Radekhiv district.
The sugar production in the country is projected at 1.2 million tonnes, which is 15 per cent less than the last year’s output.
