USDA to invest up to $500 million in biofuel sector

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has planned to invest up to $500 million in the domestic biofuel sector, reports Evironmentalleader.

The investment aims to drive economic growth using clean energy at a lower cost, as per the USDA. This would benefit small businesses and communities.

This would boost energy independence and open new market opportunities apart from generating revenue streams for biofuel production in the U.S. and generating jobs in rural and farming communities.

The Higher Blends Infrastructure Incentive Program (HBIIP) is launched to make available the higher blends of ethanol and biodiesel produced from agricultural products for use.
