Uttar Pradesh: Chhata sugar mill to reopen in 2024

Mathura, Uttar Pradesh: The Chhata sugar mill in Mathura which has been closed since 2017, is expected to reopen in 2024, state cabinet minister for sugarcane development and sugar industry Lakshmi Narayan Chaudhary said on Thursday, reported Dainik Bhaskar.

The Minister engaged in discussions with department officials regarding the ongoing development activities.

During the meeting, the Minister provided clear directives to department officials and employees regarding the proposed program for commencing operations in the sugar mill area. The first trial run is planned for the crushing season of 2024-25, and the tender process for establishing the sugar mill plant is currently underway.

Officials informed the Minister that tenders have been invited by the prescribed regulations, and the tender process will be completed soon. Technical bids for the sugar mill plant have been invited, allowing for participation from numerous bidders to ensure prompt completion of the project.
