Uttar Pradesh: CM Yogi threatens sugar mills to auction if they fail to clear cane dues

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while addressing a gathering on Saturday, made mention of India’s growing prowess and strength worldwide, asserting that the nation is capable of thwarting its adversaries.

Speaking at the sports ground of Hindu Inter College in Chandpur, Yogi addressed separate election rallies in the Nagina parliamentary constituency for Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) candidate Chandan Chauhan from the Bijnor region and BJP candidate Om Kumar from the Nagina Lok Sabha constituency.

Addressing the Bijnor rally, Yogi Adityanath stated, “Earlier, sugarcane farmers weren’t paid for 10-10 years, forcing them to borrow money from moneylenders at high-interest rates. But today, out of 120 sugar mills in the state, 105 mills are paying sugarcane dues within a week.” He added, “Instructions are being given to the remaining 15 sugar mills to clear dues as soon as possible. If they fail to pay on time, we will auction them off and make the farmers, who are the providers of food, the owners of the sugar mills.”
