Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh: Sugarcane farmers have asked the government to hike the sugarcane purchase price to Rs 500 per quintal, reports Amarujala.
Farmers under the banner of the Bhartiya Kisan Union Bhanu marched at the district collectorate and handed over the memorandum of their demands to the SDM addressed to the Chief Minister.
Farmers under the leadership of district unit head Chaudhari Rohitash Singh gathered at the district collectorate with their tractors and raised slogans for their demands. They urged the government to hike the cane purchase price to Rs 500 per quintal and take adequate measures to keep a check on the spread of the lumpy disease.
