Uttar Pradesh: Minister directs sugar mill to clear 100 per cent cane dues of farmers

Amroha, Uttar Pradesh: Sugarcane state minister Sanjay Singh Gangwar conducted a meeting with officials from the Cooperative Sugarcane Development Committee and the Department of Sugar Industry on Sunday.

During the meeting, he reviewed the departmental activities and emphasized the need for prompt payment of the pending sugarcane dues amounting to Rs 86.54 crores for the crushing season 2022-23 at Dhaura Sugar Mill. He also instructed the department to extensively publicize the government-run scheme and ensure that farmers benefit from it by achieving 100% targets. Additionally, he called for a comprehensive survey at the village level and proper implementation of the performance system for the upcoming crushing season of 2023-24. He further emphasized the construction of quality roads under the initiative for pothole-free roads and issued directives for adherence to the prescribed standards.

He reviewed the pending cane dues with the mills during a meeting organised in the district and asked the officials to ensure that the mills clear pending cane dues.
