Uttarakhand CM meets farmers, assures support

Dehradun, Uttarakhand : Uttarakhand chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat assured the farmers that the government will support them. He met the delegation of Bharatiya Kisan Union on Tuesday.

He said, “Government is taking several steps including providing interest-free loans to the farmers amounting to Rs 3 lakh. The farmers can raise their grievances using a toll-free number 1905. The pending cane arrears of the farmers are also being cleared.”

The delegation raised the issue of pension to the farmers. Replying to their query, the CM said that the state has a provision to provide pension to elderly persons and the farmers can avail the benefits of the scheme.
