Uttarakhand government approves Rs 193.24 crore to clear sugarcane dues

Dehradun, Uttarakhand: The sugarcane farmers will get their pending cane dues as the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has approved Rs 193.24 crore for the same.

The farmers and their organisations had raised the issue with the state government to clear their dues as the sugar mills failed to clear the arrears. Considering their demand, Rawat approved the funds to assist the financially indebted sugarcane farmers.

“The farmers should get their dues in time and it is the duty of the state to ensure the interest of the farmers. The concerned authorities should ensure that the farmers get their dues in time and focus to help farmers increase their income,” Rawat further added.
