Dehradun: After the cane price hike by the Uttar Pradesh government, the farmers in Uttarakhand also expecting that the state government will raise the cane purchase price. In the state, farmers had demanded to increase the sugarcane price ahead of the upcoming crushing season.
According to the news report published in Dailypioneer.com, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that with 100 per cent payment being made to sugarcane farmers, the new rate of sugarcane will also be decided soon.
Speaking on the various measures implemented by the state government for the welfare of the farmers, he said, “An agriculture college will be established at Kunja Bahadurpur in Bhagwanpur area of Haridwar district.”
