Uttarakhand: Sugar mill faces breakdown due to technical glitches

Kichha, Uttarakhand: Vijay Kumar Yadav, the Secretary of Sugarcane Development and Sugar Industry, conducted a thorough inspection of the sugar mill on Saturday, reported Live Hindustan.

Expressing displeasure over the recurrent breakdowns at the mill, he engaged with farmers to understand their issues and assured prompt resolution.

Since the commencement of the crushing season on December 8, the sugar mill has faced breakdowns totaling 84 hours. The main reason behind this disruption is the frequent failures in the boiler and mill engine. Responding to the this, Yadav made an unannounced visit to inspect various sections, including the boiler station, mill engine, centrifugal machine station, dryer house, and sugar warehouse.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the repeated breakdowns, Yadav conveyed his displeasure to the Chief Engineer. He provided firm directives to mill officials for the successful operation during the ongoing crushing season. During the visit, farmers discussed regular sugarcane supply, the mill’s regular operation, and timely payment of sugarcane prices with Secretary Yadav.

Yadav assured the farmers of a swift resolution to their problems and issued instructions to the Deputy Director for necessary actions. The inspection was conducted in the presence of the Sugar Mill’s Administrative Director Trilok Singh Martolia, Chief Chemist S.K. Mishra, Acting Chief Engineer D.C. Pandey, and Acting Sugarcane Manager Rishipal Singh.
