Mumbai: The pending salaries of employees from Vaidyanath Cooperative Sugar Factory, managed by minister Pankaja Munde was transferred to their bank accounts immediately after the assembly election date was announced. The employees were waiting for 13 month’s salary. Munde, chairman of the mill, had assured to look into the matter by September.
The workers had launched an agitation and sat on a hunger strike to press for their demand. Leader of the opposition Dhananjay Munde had met them and supported their cause. He twitted that the government should look into the matter immediately. Following his tweet, the salaries of workers were deposited in their respective accounts.
Pankaja alleged that the agitating workers belong to NCP and said that she had promised that the workers will get their dues by September end and there was no need to launch an agitation.
