Wheat prices increase, rice prices dip this festival season

During the festival season, the wheat prices have spiked, whereas rice prices dwindled, reports Economic Times.

The wheat prices have increased by 4% while the prices of Basmati rice have fallen by 12% and non-basmati rice lowered by 5%.

Anjani Agarwal, president of Roller Flour Mills said, the arrival of the huge amount of Basmati rice in the market has lowered the price of rice while the prices of wheat are likely to remain high.

The prices of wheat have increased from 2400 per quintal in Delhi a month ago to Rs 2525-2550 per quintal.
