Heavy rain disrupts normal life in Hyderabad; IMD issues orange alert for Maharashtra

Normal activities in Hyderabad has been paralyzed as the heavy rainfall
disrupted the life here. Waterlogging is reported in many parts of the city. Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) warned of thunderstorms depression over north interior Karnataka and adjoining areas of Maharashtra and Telangana.

Several areas of Hyderabad including Ramanthapur area have been submerged and witnessed waterlogging. The residents have complained of incurring heavy losses due to the sudden rainfall. The rescue and relief operations are being done at the major areas where waterlogging has been witnessed.

The Telangana government has declared holiday on October 14 and 15 to all the non-essential services and private institutions and has asked most of the employees to work from home.

Maharashtra is also on alert for heavy rain. IMD has issued an orange alert (heavy to very heavy rain) for districts including Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Pune, Raigad, Ahmednagar, Ratnagiri, Satara on Thursday.
