Mumbai: The equity benchmark indices ended lower today. Sensex closed on 18th August at 162.78 points lower at 55,629.49. Nifty ended 45.75 points lower at 16,568.85.
In the previous season, Sensex closed on 17th August at 209.69 points higher at 55,792.27. Nifty ended 51.55 points higher at 16,614.60.
Hindalco Industries, Kotak Mahindra Bank, ICICI Bank, Tata Motors and SBI Life Insurance were the top Nifty gainers. Eicher Motors, UltraTech Cement, Bajaj Finance, Adani Ports and Bajaj Finserv were among the top losers.
