Benchmark indices fell in early trade on Wednesday, halting their eight days of rally.
At 10:33 am, Sensex was trading 168.09 points lower at 61,186.62, whereas Nifty was trading 52.40 points down at 18,095.25.
Also, fall in index majors Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, Infosys and HDFC added to the weak trend in equities.
