Domestic sugar prices continued their downward trend
Domestic sugar prices were reported to be low in the major markets due to sluggish demand. Prices in spot markets are falling as crop conditions improve in the main growing regions. In the Uttar Pradesh and Delhi markets, prices fell by Rs 10 per quintal, while Kolhapur and Kolkata saw a Rs 5 drop.
M-grade sugar costs between Rs 3,810 and Rs 3,850 per quintal in Muzaffarnagar, while S-grade costs between Rs 3,595 and Rs 3,645 in Kolhapur. Agrimandi expects S-grade sugar prices in Kolhapur to range between Rs 3,530 and Rs 3,680 per quintal in the coming days.

At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #5 front month contract is trading at $542.40 ton, whereas the New York Sugar #11 front month contract is trading at 19.38 c/lb.
Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices
The rupee traded against the US dollar at 83.988 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 5.6456, Crude futures traded at тВ╣5923, Crude WTI traded at $70.42 barrel. Sensex closed 202.80 points lower at 82352.64 whereas Nifty closed 81.15 points lower at 25198.70
