Domestic Market

Sugar prices were reported to be stable to weak

Domestic sugar prices were reported to be stable to weak, following a marginal rise in the previous session. Prices were mostly steady in Karnataka and Maharashtra, but fell by Rs 10 per quintal in the northern states.

As sugarcane FRP has increased, there is a demand for an increase in sugar MSP, which is expected to keep sentiment positive in the coming days. With temperatures above normal throughout the country, demand is expected to be strong.

In Kolhapur, S-grade sugar costs between Rs 3,790 and Rs 3,850 per quintal, while M-grade sugar costs between Rs 4,000 and Rs 4,140 in Muzaffarnagar.
