Daily Sugar Market Update By Vizzie – 27/05/2025

ChiniMandi, Mumbai: 27th May 2025

Domestic Market
Domestic sugar prices quoted weak; Onset of monsoon earlier than normal

After remaining stable for five sessions, prices in the major markets fell by Rs 5-10 per quintal. Prices have fallen to a new two-month low due to weak end-user demand. Prices are expected to remain low due to slow demand and heavy rains in Southern and Eastern India.

The southwest monsoon arrived in Kerala on Saturday, May 24, eight days ahead of the usual date of June 1st, marking the earliest onset since 2009. Heavy rainfall was reported in the major cane-growing regions of Maharashtra and Karnataka.

M-grade sugar costs between Rs 3,940 and Rs 4,060 per quintal in Muzaffarnagar, while S-grade sugar costs between Rs 3,730 and Rs 3,785 in Kolhapur.
