Domestic Market

Domestic sugar prices started to fall again

After a stable sentiment for two sessions, domestic sugar prices in the major markets were reported to be lower by Rs 10-20 per quintal in the major markets. Prices were reported to be lower by Rs 20 per quintai in Maharahstra and Karnatala while Rs 1o fall was reported in across the markets of Uttar Pradesh.

M-grade sugar costs between Rs 3,920 and Rs 3,990 per quintal in Muzaffarnagar, and S-grade sugar costs between Rs 3,700 and Rs 3,740 in Kolhapur. As lean season starts with depleting stocks, prices may remain supported at the current levels or may inch trading higher slowly in the coming days.

International Market

At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #5 front month contract is trading at $483.00 ton, whereas the New York Sugar #11 front month contract is trading at 16.16 c/lb. The corn futures market trades at 134-6 and the ethanol Chicago trades at 1.66000s

Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices

The rupee traded against the US dollar at 86.624 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 5.4805 Crude WTI traded at $73.21 barrel. Sensex closed 1,048.30 points up at 82,408.17 whereas Nifty closed 319.15 points higher at 25,112.40
