Sensex ends 158 points higher, Nifty nears 25,050

Indian equity indices ended on a positive note on June 24 amid easing geopolitical tensions.

Sensex ended 158.32 points higher at 82,055.11, whereas Nifty concluded 72.45 points up at 25,044.35.

Adani Ports, Tata Steel, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and Ultratech Cement emerged as the top gainers.

Among sectoral indices, Nifty PSU Bank led the rally with a 1.5 percent gain, followed by Nifty Metal, which added 1 percent. Nifty Bank, Auto, Private Bank, and Consumer Durables also advanced, each rising 0.7 percent. Meanwhile, Nifty Media was the sole major laggard, slipping 1 percent.

In the previous season, Sensex ended 511.38 points lower at 81,896.79, whereas Nifty concluded 140.50 points down at 24,971.90.

Analysts maintain a cautiously optimistic outlook, recommending that investors closely monitor upcoming economic indicators and global events that may influence market trends.
