Domestic sugar prices were slightly higher
Domestic sugar prices have reported to be slightly higher across major markets, thanks to strong purchasing activity. Prices were reported higher by Rs 5-10 per quintal in the major markets. With the festive season approaching next month, sustained demand is anticipated.
In the last 4-5 days, much-needed rainfall has been observed in key cane-growing regions such as Marathwada and Solapur. This precipitation is expected to assist with crop revival to some extent. Additionally, forecasts indicate good rain in various areas, particularly in Northern Karnataka, which could enhance crop development.
In terms of pricing, M-grade sugar is currently selling between Rs 3,900 and Rs 3,960 per quintal in Muzaffarnagar, while S-grade sugar costs range from Rs 3,760 to Rs 3,790 in Kolhapur.

The rupee traded against the US dollar at 86.488 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 6.40128 Crude WTI traded at $66.32 a barrel. Sensex closed 721.08 points down at 81,463.09 whereas Nifty closed 225.10 points lower at 24,837.00..
