Domestic Market
Domestic sugar prices were stable
After rising by Rs 120-150 per quintal over the last 5 to 6 sessions, domestic sugar prices in the major markets were reported stable. Lower monthly quota amidst the good festive demand led to sharp rise in prices.
M-grade sugar is currently selling between Rs 4,000 and Rs 4,100 per quintal in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, while S-grade sugar prices in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, range from Rs 3,870 to Rs 3,910 per quintal.

At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #5 front month contract is trading at $463.80 ton, whereas the New York Sugar # 11 The front month contract is trading at 16.07 c/lb. The corn futures market trades at 386-0 and the ethanol Chicago trades at 1.75250s
Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices
The rupee traded against the US dollar at 87.784 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 6.26420 Crude WTI traded at $65.65 a barrel. Sensex closed 308.47 points down at 80,710.25 whereas Nifty closed 73.20 points lower at 24,649.55.
