Moradabad: Farmers’ Union demand payment of cane dues at the earliest

Bilari (Moradabad), Uttar Pradesh: Members of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Apolitical), led by National Vice President Mahendra Singh Randhawa, met the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) at the tehsil office on Thursday afternoon. During the meeting, they pressed for early payment of outstanding sugarcane dues from sugar mills, reported Amar Ujala

Union representatives told the SDM that several sugar mills in the Moradabad division owe farmers billions of rupees from last season’s sugarcane supply. Considering the financial needs of farmers, they urged that payments from mills in the division be cleared without delay.

The delegation included Chaudhary Udaypal Singh, Satish Chaudhary, Mohit Kumar, Sunil Chaudhary, Shekhar Thakur, Ajab Singh, Ankur Chaudhary, Ishtekar Hussain, Thakur Manveer Singh, and Zaki Khan.

SDM Vinay Kumar Singh assured the farmers that their demands would be addressed at the earliest.
