Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh: A review meeting on pending sugarcane dues was held at the Collectorate auditorium under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Asmita Lal. The DM directed immediate clearance of ₹354 crore in outstanding cane payments owed by six sugar mills and instructed action against Malakpur Sugar Mill for delays, reports Amar Ujala.
Emphasizing timely payments to farmers, the DM warned that strict administrative action would be taken if mills failed to settle dues within the stipulated period. She stressed that farmers must not be subjected to unnecessary hardship due to delays.
According to the official data presented, Kinoni Sugar Mill owes ₹6 crore, Bhainsana Sugar Mill ₹2.44 crore, Unn Sugar Mill ₹8.66 crore, Modinagar Sugar Mill ₹1.11 crore, and Malakpur Sugar Mill carries the highest dues at ₹240 crore.
The DM also instructed all mills to make necessary preparations for the crushing season starting in November, cautioning against any negligence in readiness.
District Cane Officer Amar Pratap Singh, Ramala Sugar Mill Manager Vivek Yadav, and other officials were present during the meeting.
