Meerut, Utar Pradesh: District Magistrate Dr. V.K. Singh has directed all sugar mills in the district to clear the pending payments of farmers from the current crushing season. He also asked the mills to begin preparations for the upcoming season so that operations can start on time.
The directives came during a review meeting held on Tuesday at the NIC auditorium. The meeting focused on cane price payments, maintenance work for the 2024–25 crushing season, approval of cash credit limits (CCL) by mills, and repair of roads in sugar mill areas.
While reviewing the pending dues of sugar mills, Dr. Singh expressed displeasure over the delay in clearing the full payments. He instructed mills to immediately release the outstanding dues.
