Fiji’s acting Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Professor Biman Prasad has said that the sugar industry is one of the top priorities for the government.
He made the statement while meeting residents of Balata College and Nadalei Village in Tavua during his community visits.
Professor Prasad said the National Budget is not just about figures but about giving people opportunities, improving services, and making sure no one is left out.
Residents raised concerns about hospitals, roads, and the sugar industry, asking for more government help.
Professor Prasad assured them that the government is listening and will work with communities to deal with these challenges. He said direct meetings with people are important to ensure government decisions match their needs.
