NHAI to Install QR Code Sign Boards with Project Specific Information of National Highways

To improve transparency and offer greater convenience for National Highway users, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will install Project Information Sign Boards featuring Quick Response (QR) Codes along various National Highway stretches. These boards will provide essential project-related details and emergency contact information for commuters.

The vertical QR Code signboards will display a range of project-specific information, such as the highway number, chainage, project length, construction or maintenance periods, and contact details for key personnel, including the Highway Patrol, Toll Manager, Project Manager, Resident Engineer, and the emergency helpline (1033). Additionally, the boards will provide information about nearby facilities like hospitals, petrol stations, toilets, police stations, restaurants, and vehicle service stations or e-charging stations.

To ensure maximum visibility and accessibility, the QR Code signboards will be strategically placed near wayside amenities, rest areas, toll plazas, truck lay-byes, and the beginning or end points of highways.

Beyond offering project-specific information, the initiative aims to enhance road safety by improving access to emergency services and local facilities. It will also contribute to a better user experience and raise awareness about National Highways across the country.
