Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty 50 closed in the green on November 17.
Sensex ended 388.17 points higher at 84,950.95, whereas Nifty concluded 103.40 points up at 26,013.45.
Indian rupee ended higher by 11 paise at 88.63 per dollar on Monday versus Friday’s close of 88.74.
Bajaj Auto, Tata Consumer, Eicher Motors, Max Healthcare, Maruti Suzuki were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were TMPV, Adani Enterprises, Jio Financial, Interglobe Aviation, UltraTech Cement.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 84.11 points higher at 84,562.78, whereas Nifty concluded 30.90 points up at 25,910.05.
