Sensex ends 111 points higher, Nifty above 26,200 after hitting new highs

Indian equity indices ended on a positive note, with the Nifty closing above 26,200 in volatile trading after hitting an all-time high during intraday trade on Thursday.

Sensex ended 110.87 points higher at 85,720.38, whereas Nifty concluded 10.25 points up at 26,215.55.

Indian rupee ended marginally lower at 89.30 per dollar on Thursday versus previous close of 89.27.

Bajaj Finance, HUL, Bajaj Finserv, ICICI Bank, Shriram Finance were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Eicher Motors, ONGC, Eternal, Maruti Suzuki, Bajaj Auto.

In the previous season, Sensex ended 1,022.50 points higher at 85,609.51, whereas Nifty concluded 320.50 points up at 26,205.30.
