Dhenkanal: Indian Potash Limited (IPL) has started sugarcane crushing at its Haripur facility near Dhenkanal town, marking the beginning of operations for the 2025–2026 season.
Around 10,000 families depend on sugarcane cultivation in the region, reports Hans India
IPL continues to extend marketing support and farming facilities to thousands of growers across Dhenkanal, Angul and Jajpur districts, where sugarcane is cultivated on nearly 8,800 acres.
IPL Dhenkanal General Manager and plant head Vikash Kumar Chaudhary said the company helps sugarcane farmers improve and expand their business prospects.
Additional District Magistrate Ramesh Chandra Sethi noted that sugarcane cultivation creates substantial direct and indirect employment for farmers and supports several allied sectors.
The company uses modern technology to produce sugar and supplies it to different States as per demand and in line with State government norms.
