Domestic Market
Domestic sugar prices were steady to weak

Domestic sugar prices across major markets were reported to be stable to lower. After a sharp surge in Uttar Pradesh prices were reported to be weak by Rs 30-40 per quintal while steady sentiment witnessed in Maharashtra and North Karnataka.

In the key physical markets, M-grade sugar in Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh) was quoted between ₹4,040 and ₹4,120 per quintal. In Kolhapur (Maharashtra), S-grade sugar traded in the range of ₹3,700–₹3,750 per quintal, reflecting a steady to slightly softer tone.

At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #The 5 front month contract is trading at $428.80 ton, whereas the New York Sugar # 11 The front month contract is trading at 14.96 c/lb. The corn futures market trades at 437-6 and the ethanol Chicago trades at 1.64500s

Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices

The rupee traded against the US dollar at 90.008 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 5.3103 Crude WTI traded at $59.58 a barrel. Sensex closed 447.05 points up at 85,712.37 whereas Nifty closed 152.70 points lower at 26,186.45.
